My Story (Why This Is So Important To Me)

Hello my friend,

My name is Greg and I am the founder of Cobb Outpatient Detox Center.
This business is very personal to me because before I opened my first treatment center, I was on the other side as a patient.
I tried a bunch of different things, both good and bad. These things ranged from outright denial of my addiction all the way to going to traditional rehab.
Some of these things worked to varying degrees but none worked *enough* for me to get my life back together.
The most frustrating thing I found was that I was addicted but I was still living a normal life. I had a job, a family, I was part of several different groups and organizations in my community.
I could not and was not willing to simply "go to rehab" for 30, or 90, or 180 days. It was simply not an option for me. To go to rehab I would have to publicly admit to my company I was addicted. I would also have to spend time away from my family. Simply not an option, no matter how badly I needed help.
I struggled through it for 2-3 years before I found an outpatient rehab center where I was from in Florida. That is where it all changed. I could essentially get the same benefits of rehab while remaining at home and going about my everyday life.
A lot of things have happened since then (both good and bad) but I am proud to say that since I started going to this outpatient center many years ago, I have been 100% sober ever since, with not a single setback, and perhaps more important, absolutely no desire to use since.
It was a few years after that I decided to open my very first outpatient rehab center. This was not Northridge Addiction Treatment Center (the one you are reading about now). This was my first one. Now, I have several rehab centres helping people in 15 different states do exactly what I did all those years ago.
One of my favorite quotes that was top of mind when going through rehab was "the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today."

Likewise, it would have been better not to become addicted in the first place. But, what's done is done. The best time to get treatment is today.
